Snow Day!

Finally, we got a snow day! I was so glad to see that we had a pretty good chance of snow this past Tuesday, and had even decided that if there was snow on the ground, Jordan wasn't going to school. I know, totally against the teacher in me, but the mommy in me made the decision. Luckily, San Angelo actually called school off (although not before Jim had already attempted to go to school). Jordan was so excited! She spent over an hour outside playing in the snow. Her daddy was nice enough to go out with her and play for a little while too. They didn't get to make a snowman because the snow wasn't wet enough, but that was okay. They had tons of fun throwing snowballs and making snow angels.

As anyone who knows us knows, Jordan is not a sleeper. She has never been, and I fear never will be. Luckily, Carter seems to be a sleeper thus far. It is so nice, she just goes to sleep and sleeps so peacefully. Noises don't bother her and she can sleep anywhere. Jordan, on the other hand, is disturbed by the slightest noise and has a hard time sleeping anywhere but in her room. Life has been a little crazy since Carter has been home, but we have tried really hard this week to help Jordan get to bed earlier and get a good night's sleep. Last night, we were watching the Olympics, and Carter (of course) was asleep. Jordan had moved the yoga mat and boppy pillow to the floor to lay down, and the next time I looked, she was sound asleep. It was too good an opportunity to pass up; I had to put Carter next to her and get a few pictures. I did not pose either girl, even though it may look like I did. Carter just wiggled a few times, until she was comfortable, and lo and behold, the ended up in the same position. Carter even has a smile on her face!

Shopping Day!

Carter and I ventured out today for our first shopping trip today! I am amazed daily at how different my two girls can be. Jordan hated to ride in the car, and going to the store was a race against time. Carter loves riding in the car (she falls fast asleep) and she looks all around, then falls asleep while shopping. Our big shopping for the day consisted of Target and Walmart. I know, big time fun, but we still made it out. Tomorrow we are taking daddy lunch and Friday we are going to lunch with Jordan for her birthday. A big week we have planned!

Our suprise has arrived!

So it has taken me 10 days, but I am finally getting around to posting pictures of my beautiful new daughter! Carter Leigh Wommack was born on Sunday, January 31 at 9:40 pm. She weighted 7 lbs 8.5 oz. We got to the hospital around 5:15, my water broke at 5:30, and she arrived very easily after 3 pushes. When we left the house, Jordan was a little worried (although she would never admit it), but she got to see her daddy before Carter arrived. That made her feel much better. We have been blessed, so far, to have a sleeper! She sleeps all the time! It is so nice to get a couple of hours of sleep in between each feeding at night. She has had some jaundice since she has been home, but luckily it is going down now.

Jordan loves her new sister. She gives her a kiss every morning before she goes to school, and she can't wait to come home and hold her. It is so sweet. I am so glad that she seems to be adjusting well to our new addition.
