My favorite Jordan quotes

Jordan never stops amazing me with the things that she says. Usually, they are totally off the wall, but true nonetheless. Here are a few of the most recent.

"I sure am glad that sharks are man-eaters. That makes me pretty safe." After about a minutes pause "That's not really what that means is it? A shark would still eat me."

"Mommy, can you tell me the location of the pottery place?" I just love that it isn't where is the pottery place, it was location.

"Mommy, how hot do you have to be for a fever?" My response about 100. "Well, then how cold do you have to be when you have a cold?"

"Carter better stay out of my stuff when she starts to play." Even though she has seen babies, she really thinks that it will be a matter of weeks before Carter will be up running, talking, and driving her crazy. Poor thing.

Her favorite word is actually. I bet she uses it 20 times a day.

Jordan in Social Studies class

Teacher: "A man or a woman can become governor of the state of Texas."

Jordan: "Did you know that sometimes a person can be born a boy and a girl? They are called hermaphrodites."

Teacher: "That really isn't appropriate for class."

Jordan: "Okay."

Her social studies/science teacher was very concerned that Jordan not only knew the word, used it correctly, and said it in class. I had to explain that her daddy is a biology teacher and she has been dissecting animals since she was 4. Plus, her mommy and teacher are pregnant, of course she will wonder if people, like some animals, can be hermaphrodites. Had to tell Jordan not to say that word at school anymore.

37 1/2 week post

Okay, so I'm basically 38 weeks, but the actual 38th week day isn't until Friday. Had weekly visit #2 yesterday, and I'm so happy to say very little has changed! I'm still at a 2, maybe a little more, and effaced 80%. My doctor seems to feel very comfortable with the fact that Miss Carter will not be arriving until February. However, she really doesn't want me to go more than a week past the 5th, so I guess our new bundle of joy will be here by February 12. I think the 10th would be cool. Jim teases the 2nd all the time, because I really don't want her to come on Groundhog Day (even though I have a friend with that birthday). Honestly, if she will just wait until the 1st to make her appearance I will be happy.

I am all ready for her to arrive, luckily. With Jordan I hadn't packed my bag or anything. This time, my bag, the diaper bag, and the camera bag are all right beside my bed ready to go. I always thought that the weeks leading up to the first appointment were the longest, but now I'm thinking that the longest weeks are the ones leading up to "D" day!

Baby update

Obviously I haven't been very good at updating my blog recently. I have no Christmas pictures, or even mention of Christmas activities yet. Heck, I haven't even changed my background! Hopefully, with the amount of sitting I will be doing for the next bit, I will be able to get that done. With all that said, I thought I should give a baby update since I went for my first weekly visit yesterday. At my last visit, the doctor told me she wasn't going to check me until 38 weeks, which was fine with me because that is one of the least pleasant experiences ever. However, over the weekend, I started experiencing some symptoms that made me want to have her check. When I went in for the appointment, she listened to Carter's heart and then measured me. It was then that she decided that she needed to check, because I wasn't measuring correctly. To both of our surprise, Miss Carter had dropped into my pelvis (which I actually suspected), I am dilated to a 2 and 75% effaced, AND she thinks she weighs about 7 pounds! I don't think I'm having her anytime soon, as I was 100% effaced and dilated to a 2 with Jordan for 2 weeks before I had her, but I didn't start off at a 2. We are keeping our fingers crossed that she decides she likes her home for at least 2 1/2 more weeks. If she will just make it to February, I will be happy! (Of course, I will be happy if she decides to introduce herself early too!)
