Rough Summer

While I have no pictures to post, I just have to say it's been a rough summer! I have faith that it will only get better though! First, Carter broke her arm. As sad as it was, the little purple cast was just so darn cute! Then, Jim was down and out all summer with a bum back, which he had surgery on 3 weeks ago. The up side, he is no longer in pain and may resume his regular activities. Lastly, the girls and I were in a car accident this week. I have only been in two other accidents, one when I was 16 and someone ran a stop sign, and the second someone rear ended me. Both were not my fault. This one, however, was apparently my fault. I not only had my car t-boned, I received my very first ticket (for running a red light). The worst part of it all was Jordan was sitting right where we were hit, and because of that, off to the hospital the girls and I went. I haven't seen the car since we left in the ambulance, but I pray is that it is not totaled. On the upside, neither girl has been the least bit sore since the accident, although I have. The only injury was bruising to Jordan's right side. With all this, I pray that we catch a break! I have a positive outlook, things will only get better!

18 Months!

I'm not sure why, but 18 months is a big day. Today our surprise is 18 months old! I can't imagine life without her.

Here are some of the things I can do and some things I love
-Eat like a champ! I like everything except peas and bananas
-Run
-Climb on everything!
-Put myself to sleep
-Sleep! (This is huge since her big sister is not much of a sleeper)
-Babble (I don't say many words but I'm working really hard on putting different sounds together)
-Play in the water (pools and the bath tub are some of my favorite places)
-Love my sister
-Love my dogs
-Love on my baby (the very first toy that she ever picked out)
-LOVE Mickey Mouse (she watches it every day)
-Dance to music
-Bring joy to my family

ER

I have been married for almost 11 years, and have been a mommy for over 9 of those years. In that time, I have only had to visit the emergency room 3 times. Twice for my husband and once this past week for Miss Carter. We've known for a while that she is a climber, we found out how adventerous she was Monday night. She decided to climb out of the tub, unfortunately wet babies slide over the sides of tubs. Luckily, a step stool was there to keep her from hitting her head, unluckily her right arm also broke her fall. I have never broken a single bone in my body, my 15 month old broke both bones in her arm. I'm afraid this is an indication of things to come!

Miss Carter is quite the singer! I'm glad it is so warm out, she can't wear anything with sleeves.

Jordan was excited to sign her cast. It has a heart and says Carter and Jordan. What a sweet sister!

Birthdays!

Well, I'm only a couple of months late giving an update on birthdays! Better late than never! I will start with Miss Carter, since her birthday was first. She had so much fun celebrating her 1st birthday! She loved getting her hands all in the cake, and eating some of it too. The presents were a definite hit as well, but she would open one she liked and forget about the rest. I'm sure it won't take long for her to figure out the whole opening presents thing.
Yummy cake!

My favorite present! It was from Jordan.

Now on to our second birthday, Miss Jordan! Carter and Jordan's birthdays are exactly 3 weeks apart, so we are really partied out by the end of February! For Jordan's birthday I wanted to give her the best surprise ever! I set out with her best friend's mom (and a great friend of mine) to meet at Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend. We hatched our plan in January, and we wouldn't let the girls talk for the entire time. We knew that Allie would spill the beans if they talked. Jordan's dad and I convinced her that we had to go to Dallas for a conference for school, but we would find a hotel with a pool to stay at. As we drove up to Great Wolf Lodge, she said I sure wish we could stay there, and then we turned in and she was so excited! Little did she know that she had another surprise waiting inside. After we had checked into the room (I had arranged for the birthday package so Jordan had lots of fun stuff to go through when we got there), there was a knock at the door. We had Jordan answer the door, and she was utterly speechless when she opened the door and saw Allie standing there! I don't know that I have ever seen her speechless. The girls were inseparable the entire weekend. Of course all my pictures of the girls together are on my phone.

Lazy

Okay, so I have been so very lazy with my updates to our blog. I am ashamed to admit that I have yet to post pictures of not one, but two very important birthdays in our house. Our precious baby girl turned 1 and our amazing big girl turned 9. I hope that I am going to change that trend now! First I am going to post some AMAZING pictures that our favorite photographer took when we visited Athens this week. Had to get some 1 year pictures of Miss C, 9 year pictures of Miss J and some pictures of the girls together. My next posts will be of the girls birthdays. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
